While I was kind of on the fence about all the stuff going on with Kayla-Na and even played the devil’s advocate more than once, I think I need to make it clear: I very much dislike Sciggles.
You know how there are some people you just get a *feeling* about? For me, Sciggles has always been one of those people. I really can’t think of a better way to say it then she’s… gross. Everything about her demeanor is greasy and disgusting and rubs me the wrongest possible way. I wouldn’t trust her farther than I could throw her, and with me being a fat out-of-shape bitch and her being the same that’s not very far.
She should not be an admin, nevermind that she’s been upgraded to the admin IN CHARGE of admins in spite of her very short time being on the staff. I’m not going to say it as crudely as some, but it’s painfully obvious to anyone that she sweet-talked her way into the position via Dragoneer and had she never been dating/engaged to him it never would have happened.
Her outlook on administrative matters is INCREDIBLY childish - she will honestly throw the “You can’t complain because it’s free!” argument instead of doing what a logical, helpful admin would do and try and see things from the user’s perspective. The argument has always been flawed, and I say that as someone who served on staff of a fairly popular art site for a time.
Before she ever even became an admin she showed that she had little control over her emotions — more than once she posted a journal that Dragoneer later had to do damage control for. No sensible person would look at this behavior and think Sciggles had the maturity to handle staffing on a site the size of FurAffinity.
There’s also the fact that, if I understand things correctly, she still owes quite a number of people commissions. Yet, she still takes in more commissions in spite of saying she’s super busy/stressed because of her upcoming wedding. Someone stressed/busy should especially not be taking on head admin responsibilities - I was only a normal staffer on the site I was on and the amount of stress I had over dealing with problems there was enough to give me ulcers. I actually quit for my own mental health when I did. In spite of what it may seem like if you’ve never done so, it is not a very thankful job.
In the interest of full disclosure: It should be noted that I have never run afoul of Sciggles. She has never banned any close friend of mine. So it’s not as if I have any sort of axe to grind that will color my perspective.
She just gives me that yucky feeling.
